Congratulations to our President, Jonathan Wheeler and his hardworking family and friends on a very successful threshing day at Bardwell in Suffolk. Visitors were treated to the rare sight of two complete tackles working side by side, powered by Jonathan's Ruston "Oliver" and our chairman Stuart Hines' Fowell engine "Percy". The Ruston was running the Foster drum now owned by Danny Wheeler, and formerly the pride and joy of our late members George and Marian Royce, and which had not been worked for fifty years. Alan Hines also attended with his Robey showman’s tractor "Batsheba", while Jonny Ling took along his Pleur street organ. A selection of other vintage exhibits joined in the fun, and a good sum was raised for the upkeep of Bardwell Windmill. With thanks to Gary Clayton for the use of his images.
