We are pleased to announce our first film show for the season, This will be held on the evening of the May 19th and is organised in conjunction with the East Anglian Traction Engine Society (EATES).
It has been 20 years since the EATES organised a road run that saw dozens of tractions engines wind their steady way from Norfolk through Suffolk and onto Essex, naming it the “Three Counties Steam Tour” it was a remarkable 4 day challenge that focused on the manufactures of Steam Traction Engines within the three counties, Including Garrett’s of Leiston.
Two decades on we have decided to mark this anniversary with a Film night showing the film produced by the EATES to commemorate this event on the big screen. Its called “Heavy Metal” and explores just what it takes to organise and run an event on this scale, from the idea to the actual event days, this is a superb film with so many happy memories on it.
The Museum will be open in the evening from 6:30pm on the 19th of May to enable everyone to have a look round the Long Shop itself first and the film will start at 7:30, refreshments will be available as well as a raffle.
Tickets are £6.50 per head with EATES members getting in free. please pre-book your tickets with Stuart Hines on either 01728 832189 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are limited to 65 spaces so please book early to avoid disappointment.
