The Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society The Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society was formed on 27th February 1956 by a few stalwart steam enthusiasts which has grown over the years into one of the largest preservation societies in the country.
The W.E.S.E.S. is a group dedicated to the preservation of all steam engines, with special emphasis on steam road vehicles.
Steam Scenes is the largest collection of traction engine pictures on the internet. Our collection contains pictures of steam traction engines taken at steam rallies, road runs and within museums across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.Barleylands What was once an Essex farming family's informal gathering of half a dozen steam engines is now the largest event of its type in the South East, with 35,000 visitors in 2008. The National Traction Engine Trust Established since 1954 the National Traction Engine Trust has over 4,000 members of all ages and gender in over 20 countries world wide. The NTET is held in high esteem and is the umbrella organisation for the Steam Traction movement with affiliations held by over 30 organisations in the UK and world wide including the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, the Road Locomotive Society, the Road Roller Association and many regional Clubs and Associations.

Charles Burrell Museum The Charles Burrell Museum opened in 1991 and is housed in the former Paint Shop on Minstergate in Thetford, Norfolk. The museum tells the stories of the Charles Burrell Works, the people who laboured there, and the machinery they produced. The past is captured through displays representing different areas of the Works, such as the foundry, and the display of our collection of Burrell engines and other agricultural equipment. The Lincs. Steam Engine Preservation Society The Society was founded in 1959 by a group of enthusiasts who were dedicated to steam engines, with the aim of encouraging the preservation of any form of steam engine from the humble portable to a main line railway locomotive.
The Sussex Steam Engine Club The Sussex Steam Engine Club was created in 1993 by a small group of locally based enthusiasts. Carters Steam Fair Carters Steam Fair travels around London and the South East, for seven months of the year. The other five months are spent in a frenzy of restoration, painting and repairing.
Kay Books is an online bookshop. Launched in November 2007 to sell books published by Richard Kay Publications it has, since May 2008, had a variety of other local, independent, publishers' titles added to the site. All our titles are all non-fiction (or 'faction' – real stories of people's lives – as they remember them). One such book is "Ploughs, chaff cutters and steam engines." Edited by Ken Redmore. This title won a National Prize from the Association of IndustrialArchaeology 2008.It is the story of enterprising men and women who provided the farmers tools and machines for the farming revolution in Lincolnshire. |
